What it Means to Be a Bulldog
Vince Dooley, Mark Richt, and Georgia's Greatest Players
In 2003 and 2004 I interviewed over 70 former players and got their first-hand accounts of what playing at Georgia and going to school in Athens meant to them. The book is broken up by decades and includes Bill Hartman, an All-American in the 1930s all the way through David Greene and David Pollack from the 2002 SEC championship team. Former coach Vince Dooley and current coach Mark Richt wrote forewords for the book. Click here to read more about this book.

Dooley: My 40 Years at Georgia
Vince Dooley was only 31 years old when he was named the head football coach at Georgia in December in 1963. After a Hall of Fame coaching career (1964-88) he became one of the most successful athletics directors in the history of college sport. In 2004 I spent over six months with Dooley doing this definitive autobiography. For the first time he talks about a number of issues, including his conflict with Georgia President Michael Adams, who chose not to renew Dooley's contract. Dooley's wife, Barbara, wrote the Foreward.
